Share Market Tip -6

Pick a strategy and stick with it.
Different people use different methods to pick stocks and fulfill investing goals. There are many ways to be successful and no one strategy is inherently better than any other. However, once you find your style, stick with it. An investor who flounders between different stock-picking strategies will probably experience the worst, rather than the best, of each. Constantly switching strategies effectively makes you a market timer, and this is definitely territory most investors should avoid. Take Warren Buffett's actions during thedotcom boom of the late '90s as an example. Buffett's value-oriented strategy had worked for him for decades, and - despite criticism from the media - it prevented him from getting sucked into tech startups that had no earnings and eventually crashed. 3 Investment Tips For Young People

Time
One of the greatest advantages a young investor has is time. Investing legend Peter Lynch, who saw average annual returns of 29% during his tenure managing Fidelity's Magellan fund from 1977 to 1990, encourages all investors to start investing young by saving money in a retirement account.

Invest in What You Know
addition to time, younger investors should make use of Peter Lynch's "invest in what you know" philosophy. "The worst thing you can do," contends Lynch, "is invest in companies you know nothing about."

Parents Training
Whether you are a new or experienced investor, it's wise to take the words of investing greats like Peter Lynch seriously. Warren Buffett similarly encourages parents to teach their children the importance of saving money at an early age.

Invest like The Best
Warren Buffett has made billions through his investing and he wants you to be able to invest like him. Through the years, Buffett has offered up investing tips to shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway.

3 Tips When To Buy a Stock

Increasing SalesIs the company growing its sales, and if so, is the sales growth real, or related to one-time events? This means you'll have to read the entire press release to both take in what management said about the quarter, as well as look at the numbers. Did the company experience internal growth, or did it sell an asset or experience some other windfall that makes it seem like it's growing?

Annual growth is required. Year to year there is definite growth in smaller companies.

Improving MarginsThe sales line is improving. Is its cost of goods soldline item, or its selling, general and administrative expense line on its income statement going up at a faster rate? If so, it could be because the company is just entering into a new business or launching a new product and is experiencing some growing pains or paying for some start-up costs. However, this could also mean that the company is doing a poor job of managing its expenses. Management's discussion of the quarterly results will help you glean that information.

New Products
In a short period of time, it's almost impossible to determine whether a product will be a winner or not. However, it could be a big mistake to overlook these stocks, because new products will often garner a lot of attention from both consumers and investors. This often helps move the share price higher in the near term. In addition, the company has probably already spent a huge amount of money on R&D and initial promotions as it positions itself to take in a whole lot of money with fewer (namely R&D) expenses.

India - Real Estate Agent Licensing Exam

It is well-known that real estate is a major source not only to conceal but also generate unaccounted money. Apart from the demand, one of the main reasons for the increase in cost of land is the role of intermediaries in transaction of lands.

In the absence of any licence necessary for doing real estate business in India, many have entered this field as this gets high profit in a short time. Guideline values, fixed by the Registration Department, are low in many areas especially where there are very little transactions. In regard to the value of land in the peripheries of the cities, especially which are designated as Residential Use in the Master Plan while being physically used for agriculture and dry lands, the GL value is very low. The incentive offered in the IT policy is that there is no need to apply for conversion of use zones. This includes land designated for agricultural use by planning authorities.

Best Quotes - Richest Man in Babylon

  • A part of all you earn is yours to keep. It should be not less than a tenth no matter how little you earn. It can be as much more as you can afford. Pay yourself first. Do not buy from the clothes maker and the sandal-maker more than you can pay out of the rest and still have enough for food and charity and penance to the gods
  • Wealth, like a tree, grows from a tiny seed. The first copper you save is the seed from which your tree of wealth shall grow. The sooner you plant that seed the sooner shall the tree grow. And the more faithfully you nourish and water that tree with consistent savings, the sooner may you bask in contentment beneath its shade
  • You have taught yourself how to acquire money, how to keep it, and how to use it. Therefore, you are competent for a responsible position. I am becoming an old man. My sons think only of spending and give no thought to earning. My interests are great and I fear too much for me to look after. If you will go to Nippur and look after my lands there, I shall make you my partner and you shall share in my estate.'

The amazing tale of the Mississippi washer woman

Investment Tips
Oseola McCarty was born in Mississippi in 1908. For nearly 75 years, she lived in the same simple house, washing other people's clothes for a living and putting whatever money she could into savings accounts at local banks.
In the summer of 1995, Oseola made local and then national headlines when she donated $150,000 to the University of Southern Mississippi to establish a scholarship fund. "I just figured the money would do [scholarship recipients] a lot more good than it would me," she said. It soon came out that this washer woman had managed to amass nearly one quarter of a million dollars over her lifetime.
Time -- a key part of the compounding equation -- helped turn her meager early investments into hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Share Market Tip -5

Resist the lure of penny stocks

A common misconception is that there is less to lose in buying a low-priced stock. But whether you buy a $5 stock that plunges to $0 or a $75 stock that does the same, either way you've lost 100% of your initial investment. A lousy $5 company has just as much downside risk as a lousy $75 company. In fact, a penny stock is probably riskier than a company with a higher share price, which would have more regulations placed on it.

Share Market Tip - 4

Don't overemphasize the P/E ratio

Investors often place too much importance on the price-earnings ratio (P/E ratio). Because it is one key tool among many, using only this ratio to make buy or sell decisions is dangerous and ill-advised. The P/E ratio must be interpreted within a context, and it should be used in conjunction with other analytical processes. So, a low P/E ratio doesn't necessarily mean a security is undervalued, nor does a high P/E ratio necessarily mean a company is overvalued.

Share Market Tip - 3

Don't sweat the small stuff

As a long-term investor, you shouldn't panic when your investments experience short-term movements. When tracking the activities of your investments, you should look at the big picture. Remember to be confident in the quality of your investments rather than nervous about the inevitable volatility of the short term. Also, don't overemphasize the few cents difference you might save from using a limit versus market order.

Granted, active traders will use these day-to-day and even minute-to-minute fluctuations as a way to make gains. But the gains of a long-term investor come from a completely different market movement - the one that occurs over many years - so keep your focus on developing your overall investment philosophy by educating yourself.

Share Market Tip - 2

Don't chase a "hot tip

Whether the tip comes from your brother, your cousin, your neighbor or even your broker, you shouldn't accept it as law. When you make an investment, it's important you know the reasons for doing so; do your own research and analysis of any company before you even consider investing your hard-earned money. Relying on a tidbit of information from someone else is not only an attempt at taking the easy way out, it's also a type of gambling. Sure, with some luck, tips sometimes pan out. But they will never make you an informed investor, which is what you need to be to be successful in the long run.
